November 23rd 1963 proves to be a significant day in the lives of all eight Doctors… It's the day that Bob Dovie's life is ripped apart… It's also a day that sets in motion a catastrophic chain of events which forces the first eight incarnations of the Doctor to fight for their very existence.. 'The Light at the End,' as has to be expected is slightly more about the spectacle and event rather than the plot. However, it does still manage to introduce a few very clever concepts and innovations along the way and, astoundingly given the size of the cast involved, to give every Doctor and main companion a sizable role without favouring.

The Light at the End cannot, because it is not remotely interesting to hear the Sixth Doctor and Peri try to escape the Big Bang, or the Seventh Doctor and Ace run away from a slime monster. Which is all either pair does for most of the story, though they do spend about 15 second interacting before going different directions on an elevator.. The Light at the End is a fantastic way to get the 50th anniversary party started and it was a great idea for Big Finish to bring it out now, ahead of its scheduled November release date. Ten.
